Summer is NOT the time to be slacking on your hydration. Staying hydrated has sooo many benefits for your body like regulating your body temperature, enhanceing your workouts/performance, helping to reduce headaches, improving mood and memory, etc. Here are a few tips to keep the water flowing and keep yourself hydrated during the HOT 🔥 summer months.
Start your day with a glass of water before that tasty morning coffee or tea
Keep your water bottle visible.. I keep mine in my view on my desk or in my bag or car as a reminder to keep sippin through the day wherever I am.
If water gets boring - try infusing it with some flavor like lemons or strawberries or cucumbers - whatever your go to is
Bring a water bottle on your walks to sip on while you stroll
Time block it - Aim to finish x amount of water by a time. For example, maybe aim to finish one or two of your water bottles depending on the size by 2 pm
Snack on foods that have higher water content like watermelon, cucumbers, etc.
When exercising be sure to hydrate a few hours prior to the exercise (especially if you'll be outside in the heat). You'll always need to hydrate throughout the activity and after as well.
On hot days - keep the water cool with ice
Always do what works for you, but just be sure you are doing your body and brain justice by staying hydrated.
